STRATEGIC SALES DIRECTOR

Position Summary:

The Strategic Sales Director owns and manages The CRM Firm sales department and is responsible for growing company revenue by obtaining new clients and expanding upon existing clients through various sales channels. The Strategic Sales Director sets short- and long-term sales strategies and is in charge of a company’s sales team to ensure they meet sales targets. He/she will also direct and oversee the company’s sales processes, procedures, objectives, and initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with CRM Firm leadership to develop, implement, and manage the company sales strategy
  • Work with leadership to define sales goals and plans by channel – quarterly and annually
  • Proactively and methodically manage the pipeline to keep a steady and growing sales volume
  • Consistently analyze sales channel activity and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives. Re-forecast promptly when changes occur
  • Qualify and vet new prospects to ensure a consistently healthy sales pipeline. Evaluate, research, and analyze each prospect’s position in the industry to establish sales viability
  • Understand a prospective client’s short and long-term goals to understand their purchasing power and business case
  • Ownership and/or overseeing all strategic opportunities including but not limited to GRB and mid-market opportunities
  • Collaborate with leadership and marketing to define and create materials, tools, events, and campaigns needed to drive growth
  • Stay abreast and provide input into The CRM Firm’s external facing content such as the AppExchange listing, website, LinkedIn page, and other sales and marketing collateral
  • Present and demonstrate The CRM Firm’s products and services to prospective clients ultimately leading to signed Statements of Work
  • Present and demonstrate The CRM Firm’s offerings to Salesforce personnel
  • Take ownership of drafting, pricing, finalizing, and obtaining signatures on Statements of Work
  • Establish, nurture, and grow relationships with 3rd party referral sources such as Salesforce AE’s SE’s, AVPs, RVPs, and PAMs
  • Work with Partner organizations to negotiate pricing on the client’s behalf to support and ultimately close new opportunities
  • Ensure opportunities are tagged appropriately with Salesforce to ensure proper ACV credit
  • Ensure all accounts, leads, opportunities (including current status and next steps), etc. are up to date in Salesforce and ensuring follow ups are timely and consistent
  • Directly oversee all sales team members
  • Design, implement, and maintain sales metrics
  • Responsible for CRM Firm sales processes and procedures including but not limited to:
    • Products and price books updated in Salesforce
    • Continuous improvement of sales contracts and templates
    • Running weekly sales calls, including reviewing metrics
  • Responsible for updating capacity grid for upcoming key opportunities committed to close
  • Responsible for documenting and delivering project handoff to the delivery team, including conducting an internal handoff meeting and project kickoff with the client; Conduct project chick-in approximately 2-4 weeks following the client kickoff
  • Participate in project retro(s) with the delivery team; incorporate learnings into future sales and contracts
  • Track time against each individual opportunity for improved insights into ROI for wins/losses
  • Networking and attneding related conferences and events
  • Other duties assigned

Education and Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing preferred; or the equivalent years of relevant work experience required
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Technology industry, with an emphasis on sales, product development, distribution or sales technology is required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of sales experience in a business-to-business environment, sales operation, business planning or sales management role required
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with all Microsoft Office products
  • In-depth knowledge of the Salesforce platform required
  • Experience with telecommuting preferred

Expected hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday. This position may require after work hours and occasional weekends, depending on work demands.

 

Travel Expectations:

This position may require some domestic US travel, up to 25% of the time, for strategic client meetings, sales presentations, industry events, team meetings, and client events.

 

Physical Demands:

This position requires frequent sitting, computer and telephone usage. This position may require occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

 

Salary Range: $100K+

Salary is dependent on a variety of factors including but not limited to a candidate’s years of experience, depth of experience, education, geographic location, etc.
